radio reinstall

Hello, new here due to current problem. Girlfriends 97 Lumina (3.1) wouldn't start after leaving the interior light on for two days. Funny how batteries just drain down to nothing when you do that. So I replace her battery and check for current drain, that's how I found the interior light still left on. I'm thinking the job is done until she points out that the radio isn't working. Ok it just needs the code entered. You do remember the code don't you? Oh yes she says but I don't remember how to enter it. No problem I'll look it up in the Chiltons..., ok I'll look it up online..., Ok I'll just have to join this forum. If somebody could please tell me the code entering procedure I/we would be grateful. I'll be doing all the work on her car so I suspect I'll be hanging around here more often. My thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: radio reinstall

its easy, when the radio displays "loc" push the "mn" and "hr" buttons to enter the code. Then push Am/Fm. The radio should then display "sec" Meaning secured. If you want to disable theftlock, there is a different procedure. Hope this helps, let us know.

Re: radio reinstall

great, we've got another af regular on our hands . I hope this works, and make sure thats the right code, and be careful you dont get locked out of your radio by entering the wrong code 3 times I think. Good luck with everything. Oh, btw, anyone out there want to sell a stock Delco AM/FM cd player? I have the tape, and would like a cd. Even if there are issues with it, I am somewhat good with electronics. Let me know anyone, please. Thanks.
