Angry 2005 Volkswagen Convertable Beetle

My wife and I purchased a brand new 2005 Volkswagen Convertable Beetle about four months ago for my wife to drive to work. Since she has been driving the vehicle she has noticed that the car will from time to time loose power for about 3 to 4 seconds and then jerk or lunge. I noticed it for the first time tonight when I was driving it home on the freeway. My wife immediatley said that was the problem she has been having. It happens for no apparent reason. I had the cruise control on crusing at 65 mph. The vehicle lost power down to about 60 mph for the 3 to 4 seconds and then jerked back up to 65 mph. My wife said that it has happened to her with the cruise control in the off position. I also had the transmission in the sports mode, my wife said that it happened to her while in normal drive position. My wife has had the vehicle at the service department twice and both times they said they could not duplicate the problem. My wife says that this happens to her at least once maybe twice a week. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the cause or problem would be? Any infromation would be truely appreciated.

Re: 2005 Volkswagen Convertable Beetle

Make sure to keep an eye out for VW recalls. if you're having this problem often, odds are someone else is too. you can write toVW and ask them about it, but other than that just keep an eye out for recalls.
