Any sujestions?

I went to the dealer with a small problem. When I have a couple people riding in the back seat of my 04 ext. cab the seat will make a popping sound going around curves and corners. While I was there, parked in their breeze way, trying to show the technician the problem, they let the door slam against the wall and knocked out a chunk of paint the size of a nickle.

At first they said they would try to fix it. But when I brought the truck back they said they would just "dab it up with touch-up paint." The damage went all the way to the metal in some places and they offer to use touch-up paint. I've tried arguing, calling, and when I call the manager to say I'm coming to talk, he has to go to a meeting.

Any one know how best to deal with this? I'm just feed up with it. I want to get it fixed so no rust will start to form. But I don't think I should have to pay for it; not when it happened on their property while they were shaking the seat.

What really agravates me is it will only cost them a few bucks to fix it. 1 100th of what they make off of the sale of the truck.

call gm customer service. I've heard that if dealerships get complaints that they lose points, the more points they have gives them deals on cars and parts that are hard to come by. that is why dealership always want you give them a good report on service cuz they get better pricing and other incentives.

boy, your are really stuck between a rock and a hard place. I had a corvette once and a screw came loose on the head light and scratched the hood. i finally got them to repaint it but because the dealer bodyshops are just blow and go it looked like S#*T. I had no recourse because they said it was repaired to factory standards. but the shine did not match. You will never be happy with a dealer paint repair. I would ask for them to touch it up or get them to pay you to take it to a place that does good body work like a lexus or mercedes shop. Ater a while it may not look so bad, but if they repaint you will be looking at it until the day you sell!
