I'm looking for a new car. I want performance mainly since im going to drop down a lump some of cash for looks/sound. Out of these two cars which would you get and why? Please list other cars you reccommend around the same price range according to my criteria of performance and in the future dropping cash on looks/sound. Thanks for your suggestions!!

WRX, because I wouldn't be able to keep tires on the EVO

If it was between these two I'd get the WRX. For some reason I just don't like the EVO. I think the WRX is just better and is an overall better looking and made car.

Now for other choices...

New: '05 Mustang GT
Used: C5 Corvette, '03 Cobra, '02 SS

of that last list, I would take the '02 SS.

E36 M3 + turbo.....better looks than the WRX and EVO, plenty of power, superb handling, and IMO the sound of that straight 6 FAR surpasses the 4-banger scooby and EVO

'98 Toyota Supra TT
'96 Nissan 300ZX TT

a wrx would need a hefty amount of mods to keep up with a stock EVO. not to mention WRX's have glass trannys. the EVO is a much more rugged car, too bad mitsubishi's warrantee sucks. but stock for stock, a wrx is a pretty slow car with a surprising laggy turbo. that tranny doesn' t feel good either. the EVO hands down has better brakes, better handling, better aceleration. the amount of money required to make a wrx lap as fast as an EVO it woudl cost atleast 5000-6000 dollars. and thats just matching the EVO stock.

a 250hp jdm WRX was beaten by the new gen II DC5 integra type R. and the EVO lapped that same type R in a different comparison in a 20 minute race.
