Angry 99 GTI Issues

I just bought this '99 GTI VR6 at 6:00pm last night about 200 miles from my house. It got dark on the trip back home and my headlights quit working. They worked fine at the dealer. They are aftermarket headlights installed by the previous owner and it looks like a 2 year old did the work. Aslo my climate control fan quit and my wipers. I checked all the small fuses and they are fine. I haven't had any experience with a VW before so I am in the dark. Any ideas? Thanks

turns out the relay under the dash was just loose. I wiggled it around and everything is fine again.
