SRT-4 vs. Cobalt SS

I was in the Cobalt forum, and some were saying that the cobalt ss can take an SRT-4 easily. The SRT-4 has 230hp, and the cobaltss has 205.
I know its not all about power, but what else does the cobalt have to make it faster than the srt-4 (torque maybe?) ? And which one do you all think would win?

Stock vs stock, the SRT wins hands down. Down here at Modern Performance, they have both and although the cobalt is impressive, the SRT takes it.

Re: SRT-4 vs. Cobalt SS

the cobalt has less power, less torque, and is heavier. oh... and it gets its power a bit later on, even with it's supercharger vs. the neons turbo...

looks to me like the srt-4 has it all.

Re: SRT-4 vs. Cobalt SS

its funny, several magazines state that the cobalt is a better car, supposidly better handling (only nominal improvment, at that) and yet the sartie, hands down wins every track comparison there is. a significant power differnce, more than makes up for a minimal (and i mean MINIMAL) handling difernce.

the SS claims better handling numbers, but also has some camber dialed in from factory. the SRT is setup with 0* of camber all around. a simple alignment will put the srt at an advantage in EVERY way. no magazine has yet to do that, every compairison is bone stock for bone stock off teh showroom floor. do an alignment and try it again, the srt would win in every way

besides I think when the designers of the cobalt tried to make the car's body they put a civic's front end in the non supercharge model hey used a neon's rear end.

Based on what?

2.4-liter turbocharged 16-valve DOHC
230 horsepower
250 lb-ft of torque
Zero to 60 in around 5.8 seconds

2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged DOHC
205 hp
200 lb.-ft. of torque

Again your ignorance prevails

Remember ignorance is just a lack of knowledge...it isn't a put down and wasn't intended to be. I apologize if it came off that way. Not trying to start anything, just trying to get the facts straight

Re: SRT-4 vs. Cobalt SS

according to car adn driver the srt-4 got 3rd in the catagory and the cobalt got 4th(ion redline, which is identical to cobalt, got 5th)

the only reason that the srt-4 didnt get 1st is because it was too loud and the seats wernt comfy
