stuck dip stick

went to check my automatic transmission fluid on my 98 4X4 LT, pulled out the dip stick, cleaned it off, stuck it back in and it wouldn't come out! Tried tapping on it twisting it, no luck. Any sugestions?

Re: stuck dip stick

Replacement tube with a new dipstick. Was the dipstick absolutely clean when you put it back in, or was it rusty? Mine was rusty when I first got my hands on my Balzer and almost didn't come out of the tube. I drove it back home with the dip-tube in the back, polished it clean with a wire rotary wheel on a Dremel tool and then stuck it back in. No problems since.

Re: stuck dip stick

I will be replacing my tube and dipstick soon.

It is really rusty and there is a TSB out for it.
