How do I replace the cupholder?

The cupholder in the dash of my V40 broke. I can get a new one, but first want to make sure I can get the old one out. Do I need to remove some of the dash controls to get behind it and release it? Surely I don't need to pull the whole dash apart. Does anyone have experience with this? (I'm posting this in the S40 forum also)

Thanks.
