Quarter Mile Times
Two questions..
First: whats your quarter mile time?
Second: Stock camaro with a 305 is in the low 16 sec, 350 is like mid 14's (i think), so what about a 396, and 405, aprox?

Re: Quarter Mile Times
405?????? what engine is that??
anyway, big block cars ran in the 14-15 second range, with the fastest running mid 13 second times. the exception is the ZL1 that ran 12s and with slicks and headers ran 11's.
my cars have not made it to the strip yet, so i dont know.

The 305 TPI's were low 14's/high 13's (some years)as were the 350's.
which 396? The SB stroker? And the 405? you mean 406? Those all depend on how you build them..they were not factory installed engines.

According to stuff on the internet that i've been looking at my Monte is 16.-17. sec car, which I dont really believe cause I took on and beat a GMC Sierra a while ago, but thats a truck so who knows, maybe im trying to make myself feel better. But I dont really believe those times unless I goto the strip.

Re: Quarter Mile Times
Yeah I meant 406, but I was really thinking 454. I confused myself and but 405, oops. I know they were not stock but If you were to put a standard 396 or 454. in a bone stock camaro just wondering how fast it would run.

Re: Quarter Mile Times
id say around 13 seconds, but thats just a guess, it would vary with what tranny and rear gears you had.

Re: Quarter Mile Times
my bone stock Z28 except for a K+N Filter Ran a 13.62 @ approx 102MPH That's off the top of my head so I don't know exact. So the 454 I'm guessing would run low 13's like 89Iroc says, all depends how well your tires hook up. Now get the suspension beefed up and it will be in the 12's somewhere. )

lol, yeah.. and on Need for Speed Underground, the Corvette and GTO easily get their asses handed to them by the Skyline and WRX. Games are so biased towards the japanese and european imports. No wonder why today's teenagers love Honda's and other imports. Not that I'm bashing anyone or any type of car. Mearly just making a point. I like Honda's, in fact, I wan't to get a CRX as a daily driver. It's a hatchback thang

i agree. Ill get a honda for a daily driver maybe but I wouldnt feel safe in a crx. Mostly because the thought of a crx vs. ANYTHING much less anything the size of a f250 which there are plenty of suvs and trucks on the road of that size........not pretty......
on the other hand they are so small and light they can be very fun to drive.

Re: Quarter Mile Times
=P I concur with the lack of safety in the CRX. Although the 1900lb weight is a really nice setup.
I'm thinking of getting a new car *gasp* really xeno?
ja, not sure what, leaning towards a 02-05 honda fully loaded for daily driver and gonna grab a 92 Z28 w/ 350 and make that the garage queen, track devil car.
