Vr4 vs turbo miata
same ol drive just a diff day, drivin north up I-5 i spot a miata
right "who cares" but this guy had an exhaust, what looked to be a roll cage, some all black rims(assuming light racing rims) so i pull up next to the guy
me: is that turbo?
him not hearing me because of the wind) what?
me: turbo, is that a turbo
him: nods up and down
now i'm not positive on how fast a turbo charged miata is, you make the call
so i get behind him, since my lane was clogged and he gets on it.
his exhaust opens up and he gets to moving. with my 1 second of evaluation, i thought i didnt need to downshift, so i just hit it in 4th.
by this time the guy really gets moving, but were at 100mph and i'm in 4th, if i downshift, i could blow past him like nothing, but again evaluating the road, the traffic doesnt look safe enough to do that, so i just get right behind his bumber, showing him that if i wanted i could blow past him.
i see him do what seems to be a shift and gets going even faster, so i (i promise i wont use this word again) evaluated the road and took a diff path.
now i'm getting a little dangerous, cause i'm at 110-115 and i'm dodging these cars, but i just gotta get in front of this guy.
with some good ignorant driving, i end up in front with a gti tailing the miata wanting in for some fun, but once we get a another nice opening we just leave him behind and i start pulling a couple lengths on him in no time, from 90-110. and now its time to shut down
he stays behind me for one or two reasons
1: he didnt want to look into the eyes of victory
2: if someone is gonna get pulled over its gonna be me, not him
a couple exits later he got off, and that was that

Re: Vr4 vs turbo miata
Well, the miata redlines at like 125 in 5th. I'd say pretty quick Miata.

Yikes, don't let the VW club of San Luis Obispo see that...they've got some 1.8t GTIs that would have you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, and a midnight snack.

That can be said about any car specific club... they always have that one or two guys who spent more than the car's worth on go-faster parts and their cars are insanely fast.
Same with Corvette clubs... Camaro Clubs... 240sx guys... Honda dudes... even Maxima fans.

Well of course, which is why I said MOST
There's always someone with a badass car out there. But for the most part gti's are a little lackluster for a turbo-sport car.

Seriously... I saw an old VW rabbit with a rebuilt Audi engine turboed @ 15psi from a GT30. Guy was cutting 13.7s @ 107 out at the track. But after seeign his car(full standalone, very professional cage, very professional intercooler piping, ect ect), he was def just having a lil fun. Guy could prolly plug the wastegate source if his engine build was as clean as his car was.
Hey, I have put more than my car is worth in mods in my car.
Nice kill youngvr4. Gotta hate traffic huh? Anytime there is even the potentail to have fun, traffic is there.
