Rear Brakesmchristo63 07-18-2005, 08:41 AM I am needing to replace the rear brakes on my 2000 Venture (leaking brake cylinder). I removed the drum to see things have changed since I last replaced drum brakes. I see there is a large u shape rod that hold the tension on the pads. How do I remove these shoes? Thanks cdru 07-18-2005, 09:35 AM IIRC from when I did my rear shoes last, it should just be pop the retaining spring that pulls them back and they more or less just fall out. mchristo63 07-18-2005, 10:08 AM Iirc? mchristo63 07-18-2005, 10:10 AM Nevermind... PC shorthand "If I Recall Correctly" mchristo63 07-18-2005, 10:16 AM When I replace the brake cylinders, is the brake bleeding technics the same as it has been for years? Or are there new tricks? Thanks cdru 07-18-2005, 12:54 PM Same as it's always been really. With traction control and ABS, there are a few more places to bleed as well though. The full procedure is in the Haynes manual if you have one. If you don't, let me know and I'll get the procedure tonight. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
