'04 Ss Indy

Hello, my name is Adrian, and I'm an SS-aholic.
How many owners of the Limited SS Indys are out there? I'm number 1276 of the 4088 built. We should start our own threads.
What have you done with your Indys?
Are you preserving them for future generations?
Any forcast on future collectability?
Are there any forums for just for us?

I've got 10,300 miles on mine and holding. She's being buffed and polished over the next few weekends and then she's being covered in the garage for Sunday nights on the town. I've added a K&N FIPK and plan to get a retune from wait4me performance (very affordable, only $150) to open her up a little more. I also have future plans to lower her and stiffen up the suspension. God I love this car. My wife and I didn't have children, we had an Impala.

I'm curious about other mods. I frequent "3800 performance" website a lot and dream about dumping another 5 or 6 thousand $$$ into her. I hear they're running 11's with the new turbo charger and cooler kit on a stock GTP. I'd like to get the headers and stainless exhaust, too. Anyone who's added any mods feel free to reply and let me know how they're working out and plans you have for add-ons. My dream is to own a 500 hp Indy some time in the next 5 years. A little worried about the cv joints and tranny, though. Not sure what they're rated for.

I'm wondering if there is anyone who makes lighter body panels for the Impala, I love the looks of them and all, but they are hefty on the scales. Carbon Fiber (painted of course) hoods/quarter panels Trunk I imagine could save quite a bit of weight. Bumpers are already plastic.

I too dream of a 500 hp Impala

They might come up with a carbon fiber hood (maybe). fiberglass would work too. just not as strong. I doubt anything else. It took companies long enough to come up with carbon fiber body panels for honda's, so i would doubt they would come up with the same for grocery getters. not referring to anybody in this forum (obviously), but people I see here locally with ss imps looks like they accidentally got an ss, and would of been happy with a base model.

Yeah, like "What's that supercharger do?" kind of people. I see many of those myself. What blows my mind is when I see the Indy's loaded up with the family driving through Illinois with Pennsylvania plates. It gives me a feeling.

They are dirt cheap new right now thanks to the employee pricing. Why get a 3.4 when only a few thousand more gets you a SS.

I envy everyone who has one . . .
