New track time for the 240...
I nailed the launch this time. I was running the exact same setup as last time I ran.
RT--------.188
60'--------2.097
330'-------5.777
1/8ET-----8.744
1/8MPH---80.94
1000'------11.276
1/4ET-----13.404
1/4MPH---105.49
I was stoked after this run. Mind you, this is on an open differentail and 205/55/15 Toyo Proxxes FZ-4's at 40psi.
I met up with a couple guys from NICO also. There were prolly five 240s running that night.

Re: New track time for the 240...
No upping the boost. I need this car for my daily driver.

Re: New track time for the 240...
Is it really safe to be boosting the KA24's when they are internally stock? They seem less boost friendly when compared to their SR counterpart...what is the compression ratio on a stock KA? Maybe its from a lack of research, but I would be hesitant to boost an internally stock KA...

Apparently the KA's are very boost friendly, in fact, some like it moreso than the SR, at least that's what I've heard 240 owners say.

Absolutely. The KA has put down 404whp and 400ft lbs of torque on a unopened(stock internals and even cams) 114,000 mile KA24DE.
Click to see and read about more stock block action:
No SR20 here
No SR20 here
No SR20 here
No SR20 here
No SR20 here<298whp on stock block
Mostly SR20 here, but still some KA rep
The truth is, most of us KA-T guys are still stock block. The two I saw out at the track last night were stock blockers. Even the SOHC has proven itself as a badass engine. Some have went as far as to say the KAs pistons are just as strong as the SRs; the only downside to the KA pistons being they have a higher static compression ratio(9.5:1). The stock rods have held a documented 502whp and then proceeded to bend with the help of boost creep. The total WHP after boost creep was estimated to be about 550whp+.
So yes, the KA is fully capable of handling boost on stock internals. No reason to be hesitant on anything except for your tuning. Keep AF ratios in check and KEEP TIMING IN CHECK!. Timing is the killer these days. It used to be Air/Fuel ratios, but lately, more and more people have hooked up the wideband, ran 11.2:1 AFs, and somehow popped the engien. Hmm. Timing makes power and also destroys engines. You can run a lil lean and walk away. Prolly run for a couple weeks. But timing, that will kill your engine quickly. example
His last engine was an example too. Same deal.

Nothing different. Just pulled a super good launch. Basically got the power to the ground this time.

great times, too bad your trap speed got lower since you actually hooked up.
also tha_new_guy i'm running 14.5 psi on my stock KA, and i've been running 9 psi making almost 240whp for 2 years on my unopened 117K mile KA.
