repainting

Anybody have an average price on what they would pay to get a new paint job? Just for comparisons. =P

Re: repainting

Any sort of body repair? If it is just a complete repaint of the same color with no repair work it should be around $1000. This is for a decent job not macco or anything along the lines of that. Peace-

More than a 1000 if you want a decent job done.

Re: repainting

Well, let me put it this way. I get all painting products (i.e. paint, primer, clear, reducer, guns, tips, filters, etc..) at 50% off of what the general public pays for it at the store I go to. For a complete repaint of the same color without any collision repair, I charge $1000 for sedans/coupes/mini trucks/and small SUV's. Obviously if you take it to some random body shop they will mostlikely charge you more for the same quality of a job. Peace-

He is not asking for YOUR price, he is asking for the REAL price he should expect at a PAINT SHOP.

Re: repainting

Yea and if you pay over 1G then you are getting ripped off unless it's a color change, there is collision repair, you are using like House of Color paint (vs. dupont or ppg), or laying down like 10 coats of base and then like 5 of clear. Peace-

Comparing how cheap you can do it and how much an actual professional paint shop would charge is not a fair comparison.

Just letting the thread starter know so he doesn't get shocked when he gets an actual estimate from a shop.

Re: repainting

In alberta the best I was able to find was $2200 (CAN) for a repaint. and just that ....no rust repair or color change.

Re: repainting

for 4k i had the entire bedside re worked, talegate, door handles, and antenna shaved, color change and a custom black to silver, window installed in the rear, and new window seals all around, door poppers installed, several misilanious dents pulled and mudded, a new oe hood installed, frame was sprayed with a nice undercoating, i cut myselfe a break on labor by removing things like door pannels, lighting, simple stuff that they charge labor for, mirrors, pillers, kick panneling, all that good/easy stuff...
