Oh...my...god...
So, I picked up my new ride last Saturday. and, well, the thread title states it quite well. Watchin that boost gauge go back and forth is so fun.. and shiftn' them gears manually.. phew. Oh yeah, and 315 lb ft of Torque at 2600 RPM's. Yes. She hauls serious ass. And its only one of 1,038..so shes kinda rare..
Okay, since technically it isnt legal yet, I still have to drive T-B. Yea.. shes kinda slow compared to the balls-to-the-wall 5-speed...
So, my friend just inheirted(sp?) a 2005 Chevy Silverado, Z71, Shortbox standard cab, with a 5.3 Vortec..
Of course we had to line them up. With me in my old V8 Bird of course..
First run, a friend counted down from 3. Holy shit, that 5.3 hauls ass. Before I was in second, he had a car length. We got to about 90 and shut it down, with about 1.5 car length lead on me. Yes. 3.08's and an auto really suck
Second run. Okay, I'm more prepared this time, and know what his new truck is capable of. Friend counts down again. This time I power brake it up to 1700 RPM's (max stall speed for the 94 MN12 T-C..lol). He still gets the lead, with about .5 car length. By about 70 I'm starting to reel him in, by 90 I'm at his rear quarter, by 100 we're almost side by side, then we shut it down because of an upcomming curve. Yes. 3.08's and a 4000 lb car and an automatic REALLY REALLY SUCK.
Oh yeah, check out my new ride, incase you havent figured it out yet..

Re: Oh...my...god...
Yes, SCP is expensive, but they know/have the best stuff for the Thunderbird. I was actually planning on buying the SCP Big Dog exhaust system for my V8 Thunderbird, but for $700 I said forget it. Now I have a job.. so its on my to do list.
I also plan on going with a smaller S/C pulley, exhaust, raised top, JLT Intake, and an SCP Chip.
For now, it has a removed silencer, which makes the loudest V6 Roar I've ever heard. (But then the whine of the Supercharger kicks in..lol)

Re: Oh...my...god...
heh, I've been a member of SCCoA for awhile now, with the username TealThunder. Guess I need a name change.
And, I've been thinking it over, I plan on keeping the SC Stock. For awhile. From what I've read, these are sensitive to mods.. and some can cause the HG's to blow... which is a problem for stock SC's...

Re: Oh...my...god...
nice supercoupe....the roots blower will be nice off the line....but you should get an exhaust and such as these guys said because those roots blowers aren't much help for top speed....but awesome ride man!! good luck with it!!

Re: Oh...my...god...
The headers would be a serious PITA. I'd either have to install tehm from the bottom, or take the engine out.
The SCP Big Dog is $700, plus it needs the down pipes, and cats.
As for now, my car is in the air. It needs new rotors, pads, upper ball joints, and upper control arms. Also need to fix the seat belts, and have the back tires remounted.

Someone jacked my bling bling!

Re: Oh...my...god...
GN's in Virginia are virtually non existant. Plus you cant beat that blower whine..
Its pusing around 9-10 PSI stock
And actually exhaust is a top priorirty on these cars. Push anything more then stock PSI with stock exhaust, and your head gaskets go boom. Yes, even the stcok SC's had problems with the head gaskets.
