turbocharging 5.3he has it been done?macman2 07-09-2005, 02:17 AM The only thing i know about this engine is the compression ratio is a bit high for much boost. can one easily get dished pistons? What about the rest of the engine, can it handle the extra stress? Can the fuel system be easily modified? can the stock computer handle it or can it be modified? I don't have the vaguest idea of how someone might respond to these questions. The reason i am interested is because i heard about somebody tuboing a ferrari. It performed very well because of the small pistons. the idea is detonation is detured because there isn't enough time for it to occur. I figured a jag is much less expensive than a ferrari but i don't know how much extra power it can support.
