alpine type r speakers

hi I'm kinda new to sounds and I wanted to know if these speakers will fit my car ( 1996 integra 4dr). SPR-17LP. 6-1/2" Type-R Coaxial 2-Way Speaker. I wanted to put them in the front and I never installed speakers before but I plan to try. I am unsure whether I need a wiring harness because I currently have stocks speakers in there. Oh, do I also need an amp? I have an old eclipse deck and I think it was about 23 rms. thanks in advance!

I had Alpine Type R's in my Civic, but i have an Integra now.....anyway, if you want to do all Alpine speakers, i would recommend getting ONLY the Type R speakers. And as for the amp, i had a Lanzar VIBE 410....and i worked perfectly w/ the speakers.

Does your deck have 2 sets of outputs?? That's going to be the main issue....hopefully it does.

Whatever you buy, if you get it off of the internet, i would buy off of Etronics. I bought almost all of my Car Audio stuff off of there and i don't regret it....not only is it a lot cheaper than a store, but they deliver stuff pretty fast!!

just enter all the info about your car and it will tell you what size speakers your stock housings will accept and info. like that.

i've heard many good things about the type-r's and i am looking into them as to replace the speakers in my car right now.

as far as an amp goes...are you running anything else, like a sub or anything? an amp will definately make it sound better. but if you are not wanting to dish out a lot of money (mainly for installation, unless you do it yourself) then i wouldn't worry about an amp right now.

That amp that i showed you was only $69.99 that's really not that much money, especially if you're already spending a couple hundred dollars on good speakers. It would be a total waste of money to get good speakers and run them off of the deck!!

As far as wiring, don't worry its not really that hard!

Oh, if you plan on wiring the amp yourself, you should buy all of the wiring at Lowes because they sell it in the exact length you need. It saved me A LOT of money. To get a store to wire my car would've cost me about $125 (complete guess) and i did all of the wiring and fuses and everything for about $25.

i just checked crutchfield and it said the type r and s speakers wont fit...maybe its wrong...
anyway i wanted to get a little more bass (trying to avoid subs and attention ..car vandalization is high in my area). is there a way to get the deck out without a removal tool?? I was thinking of getting the type r component set but i have no idea how to install the tweeter...my brother has a type s component set installed but it had this static and eerie noise from the tweeter when the volume was about 1/3.
what about type x speakers? do you guys think they are worth their price?

amplifier on the other hand...I really want to install it myself but I am new to sounds...so I am curious...how do you guys hide the wires? and is there a specific way to wire the speakers (parallel)? I noticed that many of them are 4 ohms and many amps run better at 2.

There are a lot of different sizes of the Type R components, i'm sure 1 of them will fit in your car. Take out the old speakers and see what size they are. You can go bigger too, you just have to do a little cutting.

Hiding wires isn't really that hard, you just have to figure out where you are going w/ the wire and find something to put it under. On my Civic, we went through the firewall, under the little panel on the drivers side, under the trim piece by the door, and up behind the rear panel (on my coupe, where the rear doors should be if it was a 4dr). It's really not that hard, but i would recommend stripping your car down to almost nothing before you start. Take out the rear seats, the rear deck, the side panels in the back and take out the trunk liner.
