What I've spent on cars would be equal to that of NASA's yearly budget.
In other words, I try not to think about it and enjoy the ride.

Re: How much money do you put in your car.
About $65 a week, sometimes $85. Thats for the entry fee and gas (the extra $20 comes if I have to buy back into the 2nd round).
If nothing goes wrong, then about $25 every month or so for an oil/filter change.
I'm gettin ready to buy a spare fuel pump, which will set me back aroudn $150. I got some spare spark plugs last week that were only like $16 or so.
This season, I bought new seat belts ($50), a new helmet ($200), and new slicks ($550). At the end of the season, if nothing major has happened (to the engine or trans.), then I'll be spending around $400 on the heads to get new valve springs and have all the valves checked, new valve guides, valve seats checked, and etc.
The big whammy comes when its time to get the engine freshened. That'll be $2000+. And thats if nothing breaks between now and then (next season sometime).

Re: How much money do you put in your car.
Total, prolly about $5k just under the hood. Spent $3k for the car.
Lately I haevn't really spent anything on it. I've been a good little boyscout and saved up for college. After I pay for getting samrter(intended), I'm gonna start buying engine internals.

The forged 402ci shortblock alone was $4K.....
Stainless headers were $800
