E46 M3 vs. APR Stage I S4 (V6TT)9eleventb0 06-27-2005, 10:17 PM I was curious how the APR Stage I S4 (B5) compares to the E46 M3 in acceleration. I believe the stage I upgrade gives 320 - 330bhp and about 390 ft/lbs, so it seems as though it should be able to hang with an M3 just based on the sheer power figures. Also, I believe that stage II is only a minor power increase from stage I, so if anyone has owned a stage I or II and knows how it compares to the E46 M3 performance-wise, your input would be greatly appreciated. illegal_eagle187 06-27-2005, 11:04 PM i think the audi will take the m3 in acceleration slideways... 06-27-2005, 11:16 PM e46 has 330 hp 295 ftlb right? im not sure what the APR kit includes, but based on stock turbos i would say pretty even if it includes larger turbos i would say the s4 by a bit DinanM3_S2 06-28-2005, 01:32 AM Any idea on 1/4 mile times? because I know a stock E46 M3 does it in 13.1-13.3 pretty consistantly, especially with launch control & SMG. Trust me... 9eleventb0 06-28-2005, 04:15 PM well, i've heard of APR stage II+ S4s (which is equivalent to stage I except for the addition of a full turboback exhaust) running high 12's, so I would imagine the stage I would only be slightly slower. Also, I'm pretty sure that the S4 will take the M3 from stop light to stop light simply because there is so much low end torque and because the S4 may be easier to launch than the M3 (at least for average drivers). I'm not sure though if the audi can take the M3 at triple digit speeds. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
