WANTED: Sponsor(s) For Drag TruckBadAss318Dakota 06-22-2005, 04:20 PM Hi, My name is Michael Oellrich, I currently race with the "Pro-Edelbrock Drag Racing Series" in Super Truck Class. I travel to all the races and would like to obtain local sponsors for individual races or for the remainder of the season. This would help me greatly for I travel and race this national series out of my own pocket, which can be extremely difficult. This would be a great oppritunity for a sponsor to get their name and product heard about and seen by thousands of spectators and fellow racers in a short 2-4 day event. Some of my accomplishments on my own are, I have never Qualified less than the 7th spot on the ladder. All races I have finished in the quarter finals, with the exception of the 4th Annual Lunati NMCA Hot Rod & Muscle Car Nationals on June 3-4-5, 2005 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY. I qualified in the 5th spot and went on the the finals and placed Runner-Up for the event. As of June 22, 2005 im am currently in a 3-way tie for 1st place in the points championship. ProMedia is the governing body of the Pro-Edelbrock Series which is televised on Cable Channel ESPN2. Attendance information for maketing and Event information can be found on this website: www.fasteststreetcar.com Thank you for your time and consideration. Baker Performance is my companies name, but thats not what i want to put on the car. But more importantly, freakin hilarious :lol2: CassiesMan 07-14-2005, 02:36 AM I second Jayson...Ill buy you a tank of gas if you put a giant penis on your hood. -The Stig- 07-14-2005, 03:31 AM ok ill buy a spot, i own a small but growing performance company who specialize in forced induction cooling solutions. Baker Performance is my companies name, but thats not what i want to put on the car. Ill sponsor you if i can put a big fat penis across the hood of your car. This guy is serious, why can't you be? CassiesMan 07-14-2005, 04:56 AM Normally I would be serious about this...but you would think that by now...he would have realized that his chances of getting a sponsor out of most of our cheap asses is pretty slim...Like I said, Im willing to do almost anything for the right amount of cash...I used way to many elipses in this post. -The Stig- 07-14-2005, 12:56 PM True, most of our poor butts can't afford to sponsor somebody out racing. When we want to be out racing ourselves. But, no reason to trash his efforts on the website. He seems like a nice enough guy asking a simple enough question. And hasn't caused any problems. Zgringo 07-14-2005, 03:34 PM True, most of our poor butts can't afford to sponsor somebody out racing. When we want to be out racing ourselves. But, no reason to trash his efforts on the website. He seems like a nice enough guy asking a simple enough question. And hasn't caused any problems. Very true Matty. In spite of the fact 90% of the members are broke wannbe pro racers and their cars are parked most of the time because they can't afford gas, feel it necessary to attact someone someone trying to breakout of the wannaba into the true pro racing area. In racing, just like football, baseball or basketball, scouts are looking for drivers and cars owners with promise to sponser as it meets there needs and gets there product in front of the public. You'll notice the people are making a big joke of this fellow are the same ones that attact everyone and everything anyone is trying to do. In doing so are lowering AF's statis and showing the world it's members are a bunch of clowns and have very little interist in cars. AF has alot of serious car owners, some trying to modify there car with limited funds and a few more lucky ones with money. I brought 2 sponsers to AF looking for people to sponser. A chance for some of you to live your dreams, but both were attact'd and there product's were criticized by the clowns and no one got sponsered in AF. These same 2 sponsers combined sponsered 25 people in another forum with product, money but most important a chance to enter the pro ranks. BadAss318Dakota, please PM me and i'll see if I can help you. JekylandHyde 07-14-2005, 04:23 PM And hasn't caused any problems. As a moderator on another board, I beg to differ. As far as I can tell he "spammed" this board posting this same thread in at least 6 places. The attempt here seems only marginally better than someone who indescriminately asks for change on the street to anyone that passes by. The only redeeming value is he is actually offering something in return instead of simply asking for something for nothing. Let's be honest, how many people on this board wouldn't take a genuine sponsorship if it came their way? Should everyone post a thread like this? The sponsorships I have, came from approaching the businesses I typically deal with or them approaching me. On a whim at the beginning of this year I offered up sponsorship space on Hyde on eBay and managed to secure 3 deals from that excursion. I am currently running a "Boardname on Hyde" sponsorship program on the MR2 board (MR2OC.com), but that was suggested/requested by some other board members over there. Mike, I wish you well in your racing, but I suspect you would have more "luck" finding sponsorship if you took a more focused approach. Just my 2 psi. CassiesMan 07-14-2005, 05:00 PM Very true Matty. In spite of the fact 90% of the members are broke wannbe pro racers and their cars are parked most of the time because they can't afford gas, feel it necessary to attact someone someone trying to breakout of the wannaba into the true pro racing area. Yes, so, instead of purchasing gas for ourselves (using your argument). we should give this guy money...Right You'll notice the people are making a big joke of this fellow are the same ones that attact everyone and everything anyone is trying to do. In doing so are lowering AF's statis and showing the world it's members are a bunch of clowns and have very little interist in cars. AF has alot of serious car owners, some trying to modify there car with limited funds and a few more lucky ones with money. I'd say almost all of the people who post in this section fit into the "serious car owners without serious funds" I brought 2 sponsers to AF looking for people to sponser. A chance for some of you to live your dreams, but both were attact'd and there product's were criticized by the clowns and no one got sponsered in AF. These same 2 sponsers combined sponsered 25 people in another forum with product, money but most important a chance to enter the pro ranks. No thanks. As much as I would lvoe to have someone pay me to do what I love to do, I'd also rather have my own say in what I do and when I do it and where I do it. They way I see it, this guy came in, and asked mostly a group of younger adults who don't have thier own shop our buisness (if they did, Im sure we'd have a bit fair number of faster cars on the board) and are modding on thier own budget to give him money to do what we already love to do. I'd venture to say that 99.9% of this section (non specific) are all the street racing regulars who just come in to bullshit around. I know some people here have their own jobs, and some make good amounts of money, but the fact remains that a decent portion of us are under say, 30, and aren't exactly rolling in the cash. To me, it looks like this guy is comming in, and asking me to give him money to do what I love to do, and can do for free. From my understanding, you don't get sponsors by jumping on the internet, going to an offshoot of the Street Racing forum, and start saying Im a good driver, give me money. You do it by going out, winning races, and building a car that people who can't do what you do would like to have. But, to quote Hyde, " thats just my 2psi." But based on what already has been said...Tell me Zgringo what can you do for me? Who do you know that is gonna sponsor a college student who only hsa a CAI on their low end Bimmer? I'll tell you what. You talk to these sponsor freinds of yours, and tell them that I'll put just about whatever they want on the side of a E46 ///M3 if they buy it for me. That work? street_racer_00 07-14-2005, 06:27 PM ...I still like the penis idea...except maybe instead of just the penis, have an entire sex scene on the hood of the car...now we're getting somewhere...then call it the "flynt-mobile" Gohan Ryu 07-14-2005, 06:41 PM :grinno: Because of my smart-ass remark he pm'ed me and bitched me out for not sharing his "ambition to compete in a nationally televised arena" or some stupid shit like that. At least he got famous on this board. Oh well, what did I expect? Sorry for "lowering AF's statis and showing the world it's members are a bunch of clowns" :grinyes: In all honesty I was trying to get him to stop making fool of himself trying to squeeze blood from a turnip. I actually hope he does find a sponsor somewhere so he would quit spamming. ...I hate spammers begging for money I don't have (and wouldn't give away if I did have it). CassiesMan 07-14-2005, 06:59 PM ...I still like the penis idea...except maybe instead of just the penis, have an entire sex scene on the hood of the car...now we're getting somewhere...then call it the "flynt-mobile" Penis on the hood...vagina at the end of the track....I could market that and make MILLIONS! Or at least like...fifteen bucks. street_racer_00 07-14-2005, 07:43 PM Penis on the hood...vagina at the end of the track....I could market that and make MILLIONS! Or at least like...fifteen bucks. That's great! Better yet, design a dragster in the shape of a penis, and at the quarter mile line, have giant 8'x12' poster of a vagina in it, so at the end, the penis goes right through the vagina, kinda like in high school football where they'd crash through the banner at the beginning of the game! This is brilliant marketing brainstorming, people. NO ONE HERE WANTS TO SPONSOR YOU! WE ARE POOR STREET RACERS WHO DROP EVERY PENNY WE HAVE INTO OUR OWN CARS! -The Stig- 07-20-2005, 01:26 AM dude your not getting the fucking hints. NO ONE HERE WANTS TO SPONSOR YOU! WE ARE POOR STREET RACERS WHO DROP EVERY PENNY WE HAVE INTO OUR OWN CARS! And you're not getting the fucking hint. He can ask, we all know none of us here can sponsor anybody else but ourselves. He's not harming anybody by asking. Doesn't mean we have to, people get turned down for sponsorships all the time. He asked for help, we all have said no cause no of us can afford to help anybody but ourselves. So, SHUT YOUR FUCKING TRAP. He's at least trying to get somewhere instead of whining about having a slow car. Thread Closed...
