LT1MAN 06-20-2005, 09:45 AM i wish my dad was into cars Earlsfat 06-20-2005, 01:59 PM Beauty. cuda_dude 06-20-2005, 02:05 PM I feel sorry for all of the guys that live around you... they aren't going to know what the heck just happend to them as you blow by... 89IROC&RS 06-20-2005, 03:01 PM damn dude, your dad really needs to get over that fear he has of the gas pedal :evillol: but in all seriousness, well done, im almost jealous, not only does your car look great but now its running great too. im suddenly motivated to go out and start spinning wrenches ;) 1986Z28 06-20-2005, 06:30 PM dam i wanna see, drvngstorm05 please email em to me at charlieeden@hotmail.com Rally Sport 06-20-2005, 08:17 PM DAMN! Too bad i can't watch any of the vids, the wyse terminals at work suck ass. They restrict pretty much everything. Good thing i can still come on here and chat with yall. That combo you got there is holy. FireFox05 06-21-2005, 02:04 PM i wish my dad was into cars Same here man, it stinks when you're the only one in the family who likes cars.... my uncle does, but he's two hours away out in the sticks. Link85x 06-21-2005, 02:35 PM It was kinda the other way around for me. Wasn't really around me pops for the majority of my life, and when i finally met him, i really could careless about cars. He is a mechanic and grandpa, his pops, was a dragster. I was a late bloomer for the wrneching under the hood, just started about 2 years ago, and glad i finally joined the band wagon. kinda sucks now, becuase my pops just had an an-yer-ris-sym and really can't do much like he was able to do before, he can still guide me though. My grandfathers drag car is still in the garage, 403 with 400+ horses and streetable, wish i could put the damn thing into my car, but the crank and bearing are f*****, but, my pops is in to cars. drvngstorm05 06-21-2005, 09:25 PM i was into rice burners 4 years ago, then about 3 years ago i finally learned what fast really was, i have my camaro for about 2 yrs, little less but almost 2 Rally Sport 06-21-2005, 09:55 PM I never really got into Ricers, even though I played games like NFS and stuff, they just didnt interest me as much because of the way they sounded...kinda weak. FormulaLT1 06-21-2005, 11:54 PM Damn drvng, you have come a long way since the 2 tone paper weight. Looks like a beast :iceslolan drvngstorm05 06-22-2005, 12:03 AM u helped me out alot man, i really appreciate it. got a few kinks to work out but it won't be long till she's operating completely correct Rally Sport 06-22-2005, 12:18 AM Go out there AND KILL SOME RICERS! bag91 06-22-2005, 04:16 PM I never really got into Ricers, even though I played games like NFS and stuff, they just didnt interest me as much because of the way they sounded...kinda weak. I agree........ Nice car :grinyes: drvngstorm05 06-22-2005, 10:01 PM i was talking to my dad today, he personally has owned almost 50 cars, most of them some kind of muscle cars. and he made the comment that my car was "ungodly fast" and that it was the fastest car he has ever driven. Xenostalgia 06-22-2005, 10:39 PM :P technology > old cars drvngstorm05 06-23-2005, 01:35 AM well my dad owns a gnx that runs high 12's, plus he put fuel injection on his 396 el camino... he knows about technology but my car is just plain fast i've said it before and ill say it again LT1/T56+3rd gen=GOD 89IROC&RS 06-23-2005, 12:09 PM lol, i was being sarcastic about your dad, from the vid where he sat there burning rubber before backing off to get traction ;) and ive started spinning wrenches from your example, tore the entire front suspension out of the RS yesterday to start replacing the broken bits from the accident last year. just found out my starter motor is also broken in half, just keeps getting better and better lol. wrightz28 06-23-2005, 02:40 PM Here's an irony, I wish my kids were into cars. drvngstorm05 06-23-2005, 05:00 PM lol, i was being sarcastic about your dad, from the vid where he sat there burning rubber before backing off to get traction ;) and ive started spinning wrenches from your example, tore the entire front suspension out of the RS yesterday to start replacing the broken bits from the accident last year. just found out my starter motor is also broken in half, just keeps getting better and better lol. oh lol, i didn't catch it... went straight over my head. good luck w/ the RS. i know what u should do to the RS *winkwink* *cough*lt1*cough* drvngstorm05 06-23-2005, 05:03 PM Here's an irony, I wish my kids were into cars. LOL!!! oh well i've heard sometimes genes skip a generation... do u ever give them rides in a fast car? or let them drive? that might do it... fast and furious got me into cars... then i learned more about them and realized civics weren't fast... now i'm on the light side of horsepower... or maybe v8's should be the dark side of horsepower, cuz that sounds cooler. anyway i learned the truth 89IROC&RS 06-23-2005, 05:16 PM lol while that would be fun, ive sunk enough money into her just to get her to the point of selling her. The plan sad as it may be is to be rid of her by the end of the summer. And hopefully have the IROC back on the road with a new sound system and interior. and a new timing chain. ill worry bout the rest later :) drvngstorm05 06-23-2005, 05:29 PM i've never been a system kinda guy... i can't see the reason to dump a bunch of money into a stereo instead of go fast parts... i got like maybe 250 in 4 new speakers and a new head unit... my stock speakers sounded bad, and the head unit that came w/ the car when i got it would scratch cd's... 89IROC&RS 06-23-2005, 05:42 PM im both, ive been emmersed in music my whole life, i play the violin, fife, i sing, and im learning the guitar, and i always have music on in the background. So i wanted to have a system that would play any music i wanted to listen to with great sound quality. Its probly around 800 dollars by this point. But music is definatly important to me. Its not a competition system or anything, but its not bad. Once i get that done and the interior is all finished, ill worry about getting the performance stuff done later. 89IROC&RS 06-23-2005, 05:50 PM I double posted and forgot to clean it up. Thanks the lord for Formulalt1 and I will make sure to be more careful in the future . wrightz28 06-24-2005, 09:41 AM LOL!!! oh well i've heard sometimes genes skip a generation... do u ever give them rides in a fast car? or let them drive? that might do it... fast and furious got me into cars... then i learned more about them and realized civics weren't fast... now i'm on the light side of horsepower... or maybe v8's should be the dark side of horsepower, cuz that sounds cooler. anyway i learned the truth Oh yeah, they ride in my Z every day with my wife who has somekind of muscle control dysfunction in her right foot (wonders why we go through tires so often). And on occasion, I'll take my '68 american out and they love the heck out of it (sounds cool, no mufflers) and they like watching me labor to shift the thing. My youngest got a little into it when the Gone in 60 Seconds remake came out, started wrenching a little doing oil changes and plugs at 5 years old. He's currently laid up with a fractured skull and bleeding of the brain (reason why I haven't been around much) from a bicycle accident. So, I'm hoping now my wife will see that 4 wheels are safer than 2 and let me get him in 1/4 midgets like I wanted to. I do have some respect for the imprt crowd tho. I have seen them make some incredible power out something that came originally as a 90-125 horse slop box. Then again, look at what some of the guys have done with recent model Cavaliers. In a round about way, I would say it's 'modern hot rodding', but some of the ground effects and those ridiculous wings gotta go. Earlsfat 06-24-2005, 10:20 AM ... He's currently laid up with a fractured skull and bleeding of the brain (reason why I haven't been around much) from a bicycle accident. .... Hope your son is ok, that stuff really tears me up. I'll throw one or two up to the BIG GUY for him, you and your family. Good luck. wrightz28 06-24-2005, 10:31 AM Thanks. 89IROC&RS 06-24-2005, 11:47 AM I double posted and forgot to clean it up. Thanks the lord for Formulalt1 and I will make sure to be more careful in the future . um, i didnt write that post..................... 89IROC&RS 06-24-2005, 11:48 AM and wrights, sorry to hear about your son, i wish him all the best and a speedy recovery. wrightz28 06-24-2005, 12:05 PM Thanks again, just don't want to hijack the thread and ruin 'storms moment. Congrats on the rebirth! Link85x 06-24-2005, 01:13 PM Yeah wrightz, i hope your son gets better man, don't like to see, hear, or read about anyone kids getting hurt. Btw, LT1/T56=GOD!!!!! 1986Z28 06-25-2005, 11:13 PM sorry aout your kid wright, hope he gets better soon. drvngstorm car looks great, i finally saw the videos drvngstorm05 06-26-2005, 12:07 AM Btw, LT1/T56=GOD!!!!! only when its in a third gen... u forgot that part lol and wrightz, i hope ur boy will be ok, and i don't consider it hijacking a thread, a person's life is more important than a car... i don't mind at all blownalcoholboy, lol finally is right. thanks Flea 06-28-2005, 09:24 AM i guess i am old ... when i think of the dark side the only car i can picture is the buick GN .... on a side note tho i got my 69 camaro up and running again ... now to see if i can break 10mpg in it. Rally Sport 06-28-2005, 09:34 AM Dont know about that modern hot rodding..I think hot rodding has always been the same. Wrightz sorry to hear about your kid man, thats messed up. wrightz28 06-28-2005, 09:45 AM Well, if you think about it, the goal they're trying to achive is about "the same". So like the V-tec is their version of the 350 back in the 60's ya know. Kid is doing much better, things seem to be getting back to normal, won't know a professional opinion until next week. Just have to treat his mellon like fine china for now. Anyway, on topic about running: Drove my Z in to work for the first time in a year since he motor turned sour (daily driver's transaxle took a dump). Even in Chi-town rush hour, ran at 190-220 while it's what, 80 degrees and almost 100% humidity, not bad. 240 did hit at a few real lulled stops, but right back donw with the fan. Now to take care of the brakes and tie rods, one feels like it's going to snap any second, and it didn't help seeing a car with it's tire tucked up into it's fender for the same reason, ouch. Rally Sport 06-28-2005, 10:01 AM Damn man, safety first! Let your maro rest for a while until you take care of that stuff before you burn anymore rubber. wrightz28 06-28-2005, 10:07 AM I know, like I said, first time in year I've pretty well driven it, limping it around the block a few times here and there, I really didn't detect much. Now that it's on the road for the first real drive it made itself known. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
