What sporty/semi-sporty cars are low on insurance?
I have the car in my sig, and I love more than any other possession I have, but I can't afford it because of the insurance. Originally, I was supposed to be put on my dad's policy (I'm 17), and it would be lower because I don't live with him. He was supposed to help me pay for it too, but changed his mind. He's changed to a real prick here lately (he can buy his girlfriend parts for her car, but I'm left fending for myself on minimum wage), and I have to sell my car. There's no way I can afford insurance on the Camaro. My insurance company (who represents all that is soulless and wrong) charges more for the Camaro than any other car short of a Corvette level sports car. So, what do I have left that I could possibly afford on insurance that looks and runs decent?

Well if you are under 21 and being insured on your own, anything with more than 4 cylinders is going to be pricey.

Kill your dad's girlfriend...
Or just find yourself another insurance agency. Try working with Progressive or Geico...

If a V6 Auto 'Maro is a killer on insurance...ummm...is being a coupe the only requirement for semi sporty? I think a CIvic is light on insurance. Im screwed when it comes to insurance. I'm under 21, have three tickets and two accidents...so yeah.

Funny, same here for me. I pay $300 a month on insurance alone. Meh...but Civics are very good for insurance. Depending on the model you get as well.

Re: What sporty/semi-sporty cars are low on insurance?
Well its not sporty really..but I traded in my trans am and got a 03 Cavalier coupe 5 speed, its really cheap on insurance and gas looks pretty good (especially after I got my rims installed), its no sports car but if you want a sports car you're going to pay for one. The Ecotecs a nice motor, you won't be killing mustangs but its a fun car.
I pay about $800 LESS per year than my friends Civic thats a year older than my car. Both coupes but I guess its since the Civic is more frequently stolen.

Re: What sporty/semi-sporty cars are low on insurance?
I called all of the insurance companies in the book today, and Allstate gave me an awesome rate, only 166 a month for both me and my mom with my car and her 94 V6 Mustang Convertible.
Apparently Allstate realizes that there's a big difference between my car and a Z28 with another 115HP.

Hell yeah...AllState is awesome. My car is only like $130 per month but that's with a clean record and my mom being the "primary driver". But it's still a good deal.

Re: What sporty/semi-sporty cars are low on insurance?
Civics are terrible for insurance here in Toronto. I guess its because so many people steal them. Basically any Civic, Corolla, Camry, Accord, Bimmer or Merc will fucking rape you....because that's all Chinese people drive around here. The best one I can think of as of this moment is the Mazda MX3, if you consider that sporty.
