Help a newbie out!!

I need a quality powder coated hard top (no vynel covering)for my '05 Z71. It needs to be lockable and accessable without opening the gate. I need it to be able to handle the snow and freezing rain in the fall.


I was leaning toward the ROLBAK INDUSTRIES model

I looked at the PACE EDWARDS JACKRABBIT but didn't like the vynel covering.

any input would be great as well as places to go to get the best price.

Consider the fold-a-cover models (2 manufacturers of them). These are made of stainless steel and aircraft aluminum. They will support a foot of snow with no difficult (or a 100 pound female model if you choose).

Rollup covers are problematic in ice or snow conditions - tracks don't work well under those conditions. Also - Fold-a-covers will give you a much tighter seal and are more rigid and non-flexing at highway speeds.

i was looking into geting a roll top cover when i first got my truck, and pace edwards seemed to have the best one out their. But i never got it because it would most likely always be open. i also dident like how much room the canaster and rails took up in the bed... and they are expensive.

i would say save ur money and get a non power one because they waste alot of bed space and in snow and ice i am sure they will get jammed and freeze up.
