wont start??????

87 i4 rwd
co-worker changed engine, motor was taking from running car. now it wont start. changed coil pack, module, ignition computer, plugs, plug wires , everything spark weve changed. dianostic test shows no codes.
any suggestions would be a great help. ???????????
