silvy took a beating in the storm last night!!
we had some really high winds and small hail. some point when i was driving home in it something cracked the windshield and chipped it up. and it also chipped the front on my hood, grill insert, grill, and my mirrors. gotta see what the insurance says in a few days.

Shit, that really sucks. Glad you're insured, they should take care of everything, though

Yeah, my deductible on my truck is $500. I've been thinking about getting that lowered.

Re: silvy took a beating in the storm last night!!
I recently did some insurance shopping and doubled my coverage, lowered the deductibles, and saved $25 a month. And NO it was not Geico....

i am pretty sure that it will cover anyything on my truck. i will soon find out. they better cover all of it. do most companys have you get a few quotes then just cut you a check for the amount or do they just pay to get it fixed at the shop. just wondering what other people experiences have been?

Re: silvy took a beating in the storm last night!!
I hope your policy will cover aftermarket equipment. Most insurance companies will only cover OEM parts. Thats how they like to steal more of our money, to charge us extra for add-ons. Luckily though most OEM parts are more expensive than aftermarket.

Re: silvy took a beating in the storm last night!!
When I started driving in high school I had three accidents in the first two years and Farmers said never in my life time would I ever get insurance from them again. Almost twenty years later I am paying some of the best rates around Tx. No tickets in 4 years. Oh yea, take the radar detector out before you get in their parking lot.

well they gave me and estimate was almost 2000 dollars and they wrote me a check for 1700 today. they did cover my grill and said they acted like all my accesories would be covered. he checked all over. i like my company, gave me the quote then cut me a check and said take it to any shop you want and if it goes over the quote contact them, and they said i can order my own parts and do my own work and save money. it was almost 1000 in parts and 1000 in labor.
