I just let the car warm upwith the coolant resevoir cap off.
The air bubbles tended to work themselves out over time, anyways. The top of the resevoir is usually the highest part of the entire coolant system so all the air tries to go there. All you should need to do is drive around for a day, check and fill the coolant, repeat for a week.
