Hey,

I'm trying to install this but running into some trouble as I am a NEWBIE at this. I know, I know.... I should have a professional install it but I like to work on these type of projects on my car and also like to take it as a learning experience even though at times it can be a hassle with trying to do something without the knowledge and experience.

I'm trying to get it installed on a 99 civic ex (manual). I got most of the wires of the primary harness wired which for the most part I believe they are setup correctly.

What I have wired so far from primary:
white - wired to red/black parking lights (+) near keyless entry module
green - wired to light green/red door trigger (-) OEM alarm plug
blue - wired to blue/ black trunk/hatch (-) pin OEM alarm plug
Black - grounded to metal
Red - it says to wire to constant 12V power which is white near ignition harness, however I found a white wired at OEM alarm plug which I followed and it looked like it was steaming off the bundle of wires going to the iginition switch so I wired it at the OEM alarm plug

As far as the other wires that came with the alarm, I have not wired them since I'm either confused as to where they should go or since I'm not setting up the remote start feature I thought some of them would not need to be wired.

Yeah...there are some wires that you won't need because of the remote start. The thicker guage purple, orange, and pink/white won't be used. The black and green will only be used if you want to do starter kill. The smaller guage gray, blue, blue/black, purple/white wires won't be used either, since those all have to do with remote start. Basicly...here's a list of wires that you *will* need.....

Off the primary harness....
Red to 12 V
Brown to the siren's red
Black to ground
White to parking lights
Green to door trigger
Blue to the trunk trigger (or other neg trigger)

Hook up the thicker red wires and the thick pink wire to 12 V and Ignition respectively.

The black with white will only be used if you're doing domelight supervision. The orange small guage you won't need. The red/white will only be used if you're doing trunk release. Both the red/white and black/white have a low neg output voltage, so you'll need to use a relay to up the voltage or switch the polarity all together to get them to work. I think that about covers it.

Oh...I should mention this..... Go to the ignition column for your 12 V and ignition. It's the point where the best connection can be safely made with those. Test all of your wires with a *Digital Multi-Meter*... DON'T use a test light, as a test light could possibly damage circuits such as your air bag! Test lights BAD in install biz!

I have some questions about the thicker red wires and the thick pink wire. The installation guide says that the red(s) are wired to high current 12V input(+) and the pink to output to ignition circuit(+). The wires are on the heavy gauge relay satellite wiring.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for at the iginition column and what these are supposed to be wired to. Are they hard to get to?
Like I said, I'm a newbie at this so I'm sure with some good guidance I can do it.

The thicker red and pink are for the relay satellite. The red goes to 12 V and goes to a thick white wire at the ignition cylinder. The pink is the ignition for the entire system, and is neccessary to hook up and should go to a thick black/yellow wire at the ignition cylinder. They shouldn't be hard to find. If you drop down the driver's underdash panel, there'll be a bundle of wires covered in a black sheath around the steering column. Carefully cut back the sheath. The white wire will be in one sheath, and the black/yellow in another. Use the multi meter to test for 12 v. That'll be the wire that's hot all the time. Ignition will test like this...nothing while it's at rest, and it'll go to 12 volts when you turn the key in the ignition and it'll stay 12 volts even while you crank the car. That's called true igition, and that's the one you want.

After the wires of the relay satellite are conected and and plugged up to the brain in the proper slot, I was wondering does the actual block of the relay satellite just hang there on the side or under the stering column or does it connect to anything? Not sure how to describe the block. Its a rectangle block consisting multiple square blocks where the actual wires are coming out of.

Had questions about the door lock harness too. Theres a:
Green wire (-)Lock (+) output
Blue (-), (+)lock output

I'm assuming this is for the keyless entry correct?
My wiring diagram shows that power lock Green/white(-) and power unlock Green/org(-), but if my assumation is correct I"m confused as to how they are wired to which.

There should be a "ribbon cable" with multi colored wires all attatched to each other. That plugs into the relay bank and then into the brain. The locks on a Civic are negative trigger locks (which means that the lock wires rest at 12 Volts, and activate when they see ground), so the green from the alarm goes to lock, and the blue goes to unlock.
