b16a1 ecu wiring

The main thing left to finish my swap is to get the wiring nice, clean, and right. Question is, can I get the pins from Honda to wire up the knock sensor and vtec solenoid to the ecu?

Did you get a b16 harness with the swap?? If so cut some pins off that and solder them onto your wires and you are set. I would assume you could probably get the pins from Honda as well.

I believe the problem with that is the harness from the SiR uses plugs in the engine bay for the added wires for the swap (knock sensor, etc.). You dont have anything to plug them to under the hood, so the 4 added wires have to be run straight to the ecu. I guess the harness from HASport takes care of that by letting them plug in under the hood and providing a means to plug directly to the ecu. Does that make any sense?

STOP!!!! DO NOT RUN YOUR WIRES STRAIGHT FROM THE SENSORS TO THE ECU!!!! put a coupler in between like the rest of the wires. just goto the scrap yard, get a coupler offa dead honda...i used the 6 pin rectangular shaped one offa 4g civi distributor...solder it up, making sure the pins match (draw a picture of the coupler to help)...get some heat shrink to seal it up, get that black plastic wire cover tube stuff, electrical tape to seal the ends of the tube and some zip ties...its so easy to do a good job yourself its not even worth the $$$ to buy the hasport one...

to explain my yelling...just think of when you gotta pull your motor after smokin your clutch or for any other reason, then think about "shit, now i gotta cut those 4 wires and do it all over again" or do what i told ya and say "click""gee willickers, i sure am gosh darn it glad that i didnt wire this straight to my ecu, disconnecting everything is a 'snap'" (pardon the pun)

yeah, I understand what your saying...I just hate dealing with the junyards around here, they are mostly worthless and honda doesnt carry the pins and such.I would order the hasport one, but it's too late now, I need my car back and running.

yeah, thats what I'm saying - they arent like that anymore around here. They all have electronic databases and you have to tell them what model, year and part you need, otherwise you're SOL. I just called 5 places and told them I need the interior wiring harness for any honda acura from 90+ basically and they wouldnt answer my question w/out a model and year#. I coulda been a dick and just named every generation of every honda/acura, but I'm not in the mood. lata
