Question Trouble with stock stereo/cassette player

I have a 97 VW Passat, I took out the stock stereo/cassette player and put in a CD Player. The CD Player was stolen so I decided to put the stock stereo back in. Now the stereo will not work, when I turn on the power button the word "safe" appears and it will not do anything else. It wont take tapes, and I can't get the stereo to turn on. I was wondering if there is something I can do to get the stereo to work again. Please help! Thank You!

Re: Trouble with stock stereo/cassette player

Did you get it fixed by now? If not look at your manual for the radio and put in the 4 or 5 digit code......
