Question 1988 F-150 4sp 4x4 help

Hello all new to the forums here.

I have a few questions about a truck i am going to buy. It's a 1988 F-150 4 speed. It has the 4.9 L6. Now the person i might be buying it from said that someone had popped the hood and stole a electrical box that is mounted on the wheel well. Does anyone know what this might be so i can check around on what it might cost to replace this item? One other thing about it he said they just cut the wires. Do I have to replace this wire harness or can I splice it together when i get the part (if it's possible)?

The clutch is bad also. Any sugggestions on a clutch type? The truck will not be used on a daily basis but will be used for hunting, Fishing, And some hard water action(Ice fishin for those far south of MN ). But otherwise hauling stuff around the house when needed. and what not. My buddy suggested going one step above OEM.

Well Thanks for any help in advance,
Tim
