COmpression?V T E C H 06-02-2005, 01:44 AM Does anyone know what a normal range of pounds of compression for a GSR is?? thanks in advance kornflakes28546 06-02-2005, 11:23 AM GSR's comp. ratio is supposed to be 10:1 V T E C H 06-02-2005, 09:52 PM how many psi does that equate to superbluecivicsi 06-03-2005, 05:45 AM if you are not below 175. you are good. also, as long as the results are across the board, you are good. Tano016 06-03-2005, 10:32 AM My gsr has 215 psi all even on 4 cylinders, thats with cold engine. if i add a tablespoon of oil (called a wet test) in each spark plug hole, i get exactly 240 psi, which is normal since part of the oil's job is to seal the clearance between the ring and cuylinder wall. The larger the diffrence between the wet and dry test the more your rings are used up. If any of your cyl are less than 90psi and your car is under guarantee, honda has to re-build your engine underguarantee and they will change all your ringa on all cylinders. I got mine changed at 99000 kms under guarantee. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
