TechArt Turboporsche911 02-02-2001, 10:41 AM Look at this baby http://www.fantasycars.com/derek/cars/images/porsche/techart911turbo_1.jpg It has 530 horses and 546 lbs of torque. And, it gets to 60 in just 3.6 seconds!!! Very sweet car. JD@af 02-02-2001, 07:24 PM WOW. And the performance seems to back up its appearance. You know what's funny? For years growing up, I always hated the way the 911 and its variants looked. Now, since the adaptation of the Boxster headlights (which I think was a great move for Porsche), I think they are some of the best-looking cars on the road. And something about the way they look permits them to wear whatever "ricey" body kits, rear wings, etc. that people can find to stick on them and still look good. This car is clearly no exception. Thanks for the post, porsche911 rickyn 02-02-2001, 07:31 PM WOW, what a car!!! who is TechArt? are they something like RUF? enzo@af 02-02-2001, 09:46 PM Techart is an aftermarket tuner of Porsche. They (obviously) do some good work, eh? Good call, JD. I generally dislike all models of porsche, but I like the boxster and the new 911 isn't bad at all. It's nice to see that they got rid of those ugly things on the bumper. LotusGT1 02-14-2001, 08:16 AM http://www.fh-zwickau.de/~ao/gemballa_porsche_996_biturbo_gtr600/gemballa_porsche_996_gtr600_02.jpg http://www.fh-zwickau.de/~ao/gemballa_porsche_996_biturbo_gtr600/gemballa_porsche_996_gtr600_01.jpg GEMBALLA did it again! In the context sport auto - test routine succeeded chief tester Horst von Saurma - rather unintentional - on the north loop with the new GEMBALLA GTR a round record for to road-certified 600 in only 7:44,7 minutes again vehicles! Connoisseurs of the scene remember: after 1995 it is already the second time that Horst von Saurma with a road sports car on Porsche 911-Basis, structured by the Leonberger tuner Gemballa, improved the prestigious record. The fact is still more remarkable that it concerned with both Gemballa Porsche around not as with some other record attempts around cut racing cars, but full-equipped road vehicles, which went with exclusive special leather configuration, air conditioning system, stereoanlage and besides noticed with road tyre on record travel. More comfortably and more comfortably goes hardly and then still so fast... The fact that the test fixed very at short notice could take place at all is to be owed on the one hand to the successful conception of the GEMBALLA GTR 600, on the other hand however not least unites nightshifts of the GEMBALLA workshop team for tuning travels remained directly no time. There it came already somewhat unexpectedly that in Hockenheim already in the 3. Attempt the fastest ever time measured of sport auto was stopped, although the vehicle is actually with an unloaded weight of 1.482 kg and Nuerburgring tuning everything else as racing course suited. With the following Sprint of 0 to 200 km/h the clock already stopped after sensational 11.5 seconds. The relatively slow 0-100 - time by 4.3 seconds would be to be surely improved to a value around 3.5 seconds, if one would calm the marking rear axle down by the installation of rigid engine mountings. This would be however also connected to strong comfort losses and body wear. On the north loop, which was headed for by the way directly thereafter on own axle, was it shown then already in the 2. Round that the car has undreamt-of Potential . Rather coincidentally as planned completely problem-free a new round record came off. But is safe GEMBALLA itself: it goes still faster! Also a few retouchings at the chassis and something lightweight construction a time of under 7.39 would have to be feasible nevertheless... Looks better than the TechART, and is probably faster as well... Bean Bandit 02-14-2001, 10:03 AM I prefer the look of the pre 996 shaped lights. It was all this years so typical for Porsche. khiasanth 02-22-2002, 12:54 PM Must admit to agree with Bean Bandit there, since the 996 the 911 range seems too cuddly and woosey for my liking, the 993 was the top of the evolutionary scale thus far (IMO) they seem to be loosing their character to some degree in their latest incarnations. Bean Bandit 02-22-2002, 01:06 PM true words from kiasanth. IMO the wheelhouses have a smaller width cause to the width at the doors the difference is too small.:bandit: Stupafy 02-27-2002, 11:13 PM got to love that piece of machinery...very good looking. scspeedster 06-12-2002, 10:04 PM Enzo: What ugly things on the bumpers? PAJAWA MAN 10-09-2003, 01:44 AM I'm rather partial to the older headlights, but I do like the aerodynamics of the new ones. Which is why I'm really looking forward to the new 05/06 911s... here should be a pic (it's my first time posting a picture, idk if it will work) E:\Documents and Settings\Adam\My Documents\My Pictures\Porsche Pics\2005 911 Turbo (retouched).jpg vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
