A spoon engine in a neon, that is funny. I guess it could work, but you would have to shell out alot of money. The best engine swap for a neon, would be a 2.4 engine out of a stratus. It isn't a direct bolt-in, but with some minor mod's it can work. It has been done over and over again. If you need some more info, email or pm me.

That swap is alot more complicated and alot more money. For the same amount and less time you can turbo a 2.4 stratus and have more power.

Re: my 95 neon engine?
the swap is incredibly easy it is a direct bolt in the srt motors are the exact same external block as the 420a..

The SRT-4 engine is not a direct bolt on to any first generation neon. The turbo is a direct bolt on to DOHC neons, but needs an adapter to fit onto SOHC neons. Where are you getting this info that the SRT-4 engine will bolt into a 1st gen?

Re: my 95 neon engine?
the srt motor will fit, but DAS is right, it will require a bit of tweaking. in the end it will be worth it though. while it is true, it will be cheaper to turbo a stratus motor, there is a lot more potential in an srt motor. 450hp on stock internals, the stratus wont be capable of that. if you want power, thats what you need to look into.
if you are going to do that, make sure you get the entire engine/tranny/wiring harness/computer from the SRT. that will make the install a lot easier

But with that 450HP, comes broken motor mounts and broken axles. So put some money aside for some solid motor mounts and newer stronger axles

Re: my 95 neon engine?
not necessasrily. guys are running it, you just cant abuse it. motor mounts are $25 for a set, and axles arnt too bad. $500, and i know several 400+hp cars that are still running stockers even after many many drag runs
