95 vs 99 headgasket

I had a 95 grand am v6 3100 and i changed the head gasket on it. My friend has a 99 with a blown headgasket and wants me to change it. Is there any diffrence in changing the two?

Unsure about the '99, but the 95-98's all use the same procedure. I'd presume that it is same for a '99, one thought is to compare the gaskets from the two years. That might help give a clue or two?

Re: 95 vs 99 headgasket

The 3100 has not changed much over the years and should be the same to change the head gaskets. Just make sure you use gaskets for the 1999 and use new head bolts as the bolts are torque to yield and cannot be reused.
