When going from a stand still and turning at a corner, the front of the car squeels, and thumps when turning.....any ideas? It is topped up with power steering fluid.
Make sure your belts don't need adjustment. If your drivebelt is just slightly loose you'll hear a squealing noise when you make turns, as well as a thumping noise.
Is the noise & thumpimg comming from the tire. If so it could be as simple as a broken belt in the tire. Other possibilities could be a suspension problem causing the tire to squeal and bump along the road surface. Just a thought.
Squeeling and thumping while turning the wheel at a stop sounds like a bad power steering pump. THe power steering pumps on our cars aren't exactly too robust - it could be squeeling because it's going south, and the thump is from lag because it can't keep up.
