92 Silverado keyless entry issues

First of all everytime I post her I get perfect answers to all my questions and everything has worked like a charm- Thanks to all who reply

My keyless entry quit working. I changed the battery on the remote and now when I push the lock/unlock botton (same botton on remote) all I get is a double beep inside the cab. the locks dotn work.

Any ideas where to start to search for a problem or how to make it work again?

Thanks again for all your help

I had a similar problem on my truck. I didn't use it for a year since I thought the remote was worn out. It turned out that after I changed the battery once I needed to re-synchronize the frequency. You can do this by holding both buttons down at the same time for five seconds. If the truck makes a sound, it should have worked. My truck is a 98 with stock keyless entry so yours might be different. However, it won't hurt to try!

yes, if you open your remote it should say somthing of how to reset the frequency by standing by the truck and holding both buttons for an x amount of time to reset it. let us know if it works.

OK - I took the remote apart and no joy on directions- I tried to hold the main button done for an alotted amount of time and it goes into a steady -beep -beep-beep-beep-beep...... until I push the button agian. I also tried hloding them both down and just the aux button and I get the same responce, about a month ago it quit working for about a week then it jsut started working agian for a month and now it is back to not working.
