im changing water pump due to over heating probs i need to remove main timing belt i need to know how to remove it with out turning the alinmet it seems like it needs some sort of tool that holds it in place while removing there are two holes that look like some tipe of lock can be plased while removing ...any ideas on what i need to do to remove this

Many people chase overheating problems on Isuzu's.

Typically they flush the heck out of the rad. Then change the thremostat. But still don't have any luck. Then they change out the water pump. Guess what, still no luck.

Then they swap out the rad. Problem solved.

If your truck is 10yrs or older and over 150k I would swap out the rad first before I did the water pump. Now if you are due to change your timing belt then yes swap out the water pump too.
