rev an ls to 8000

i have read alot of topics and people say that u cant rev a stock ls past 7100 but is 900 rpm really that much more??

the only problem w/ revving an engine higher than it is supposed to is that there are three areas of unbalance in an engine. One area of unbalance is in the low rpm range, one in mid range and one right past the redline. You'd be stressing you're engine a lot by revving it higher w/o doing any sort of work. In order to rev it higher, you'd need to blueprint and balance the engine, and possibly do head work.

There really isn't any benefit to revving it higher....your powerband kinda runs out after redline.

do it I dare you.
yes adding the extra strain isn't good and worthless your cams won't make power up there now if you had better cams it would then have a reason to rev higher you my friend don't.
