1996 Chevy S-10 4.3L

I have a 96' s-10 which i've gotten trouble codes for: P0102-mass air flow sensor, P0340-camshaft position sensor and P1441-evap system flow during non-purge. I haven't found anywhere or anyone who can tell me how to narrow down the list of problems and without just starting to replace parts, I'd like to figure out which components are the problem. The mass air sensor and the cam sensor are the two i'm most concerned about. Can anybody tell me if there is anyway to test either the mass air flow sensor or cam position sensor. When starting the truck it tends to want to stall if you don't feather the gas, and sometimes stalls anyway (several times in a row before staying running). After it has started and is idling, there are surges where it'll rev up and then settle back down. Nothing really seems to help or hurt the condition of the idling. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Andrew.

These few things are always the first things to try with any engine problems, and will cure probably 90% of them.

Re: 1996 Chevy S-10 4.3L

P0102- Gently clean the MAF. Use brake cleaner because it doesn't leave any residue. Be careful not to damage the sensor.

P0340- The camshaft position sensor is used solely for gathering misfire information. It does not have any effect on performance.

After cleaning the MAF, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to clear the codes. If the P1441 comes back replace the purge solenoid it should be no more than $20

If problems persist, check for vacuum leaks. Timing cannot be adjusted on 96 and up 4.3s

When was the last time you did a tune-up?
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
PCV valve
