you could make a log style manifold pretty cheap... i dunno about the stoclk mani though...

You could use a '92-'95 CX, VX, or '88-'91 HF manifold. They are different from the others because they have the cat attached to the manifold directly (makes a nice place to put an adapter plate and turbo on). There's a pic on here of it: http://www.civicland.com/diy/generalinformation/budget_turbo.shtml

i really dont wanna get another manifold i trying to do this for under 500 i already have the turbo, bov boost controller, and the turbo was a intergrated wastegate. the guy im working on this with said the since i have a 2nd exhaust manifold for my y8 the i could weld on a flange but i cant seem to find one.

i've seen pictures of a manifold made by cutting the y7 manifold before the cat, so it's been done before. it's cheap, but it'll work

I was thinking of doing the samething but I have a exturnal turbo I do have the down pipe and old lines but I dont have the intercooler and piping..

So what I'm asking if I use the stock manifold with the turbo how will the wastgate work with it..

There are a few ways of doing this, although none of them are particularly great. You can get an HF manifold and buy an adapter flange, which is a common method on older D series or budget builds, but the newest method of using the stock manifold is to get a piece of piping and make a J out of it, attach one end to the bottom of the stock manifold and route it up towards the hood....effectively making a topmount. this works fairly well and is rather inexpensive. If you want to know more about how to make a cheap manifold/turbo setup, go to www.homemadeturbo.com I too am a member of that site....

If you're merely looking for a cheap turbo manifold, that site has the stuff you need. There are plenty of cheapo manifolds floating around HMT. They're inexpensive but they'll get you boosted and be reliable. If you have any more questions, just let me know

I'm not positive, but I'm assuming you're asking about how to use and external wastegate with the HF manifold? If that's what you mean, then there are a couple ways of doing it. The first is to drill out the hole for the O2 sensor and weld a flange on it. I would advise against doing this for 3 reasons. Drilling out the hole could mess with the structural integrity of the manifod. Welding 2 different metals together could cause a problem and not hole (different thermal expansion rates could cause cracking). And this is not a very efficient place to put the wastegate. Your other option is to buy or make an adapter. Unfortunately I can't find the pic of it that I saw recently, but I'll try to explain it as detailed as possible. It consists of 2 flanges (matched to the correct turbo you're using), a metal pipe in between the 2 flanges (in the shape of the outlet. i.e. rectangular pipe for a rectangular outlet), a wastegate flange, and a short pipe that matches the inlet of the wastegate. This is a very crude drawing but you should get the basic idea:

You'll want to make the pipe as short as possible, yet still be able to get the bolts in the holes and to give you enough room for the wg flange.

thats what I was talking about Im still on the fence about what I want to do..

I find that theres way to much frangmented data about turbos and set ups out there

I just want to make this my everday driver so I dont want to do much but I want to do it right the first time:)
thank all that replied it was that answers that I was looking for..
