My Review of BattleStage

First off, I would like to tell you that I downloaded BattleStage via mIRC on channel #drift_club on dalnet. BattleStage as most of you know is just a complilation of all of the battles, but redone with better CG. There wasn't a huge upgrade in the CG department, just a lot of little things that really make it look better. For instance, you can actually see reflections off of the cars at times, the guardrails have a much more realistic texture, and you can actually see the tread on the tires. There are a lot of other improvements throughout, but I'll let you see for yourselves. I must tell you that the rain battle between Kenta and Takumi was incredible! They managed to make the rain look really good especially on the cars, it was just amazing. Also, at the end there is also a never before seen race between Keisuke and the guy that drives the white Lancer on the LanEvo team, some of you may have seen the manga for the race though. In conclusion, I think if you really liked the races its worth the download, but if you liked the plot more, than you aren't really missing out on anything. Actually, you should download BattleStage just for the race between Kenta and Takumi (Have I mentioned how cool the race looked, because it was awsome!)

Sorry for the long post.

they also improved the way the cars moved durin a drift. you can actually see the car shake when the tires are fightin for traction. and they re did the GT-R really nicely. the original modelin for the GT-R looked tooo blocky. but the battle stage one was done exactly to spec as the real counter part. at first i was sort of disapointed at the movie. but me and my friends all some how came back to it for a second time. and now i actually like it now. hte more i watch it the more i like it .

From what ive seen in the Avi's from the 1st stage compared to the avi on battle stage its like comparing gran turismo 2 to gran turismo 3. I always though the CG was pretty crappy in the 1st stage. I haven't seen initial D on DVD yet though, so the quality could be better than what I've seen.

Have anyone notice that they switch CG companies after 2nd stage? That's why Extra stage looks so different. The new company re-did the 1st stage scenes for battle stage.

Just taking a guess...before Initial D the movie was release, Extra stage OVA went on sale.....so is battle stage paving the way for 4th stage?
