93 6.5 diesel

My revcounter and speedometer jump around together even while the motor isn't running. All I need to do is turn the key. Has anyone come over this problem out thier?

Re: 93 6.5 diesel

Thanks for the replies.
I have already tried running a ground wire directly to the back of the instrument cluster and cleaning the connectors which made no difference.
The ignition switch has been giving some problems. Starting and on a dark night I can see arcing in the column starter switch. Sounds like the two problem could be the same thing, I think Ill try replacing the switch next.
thanks again Drof.
