Celebrity Fuel Problem 2.8l

ok, i have an 1989 chevrolet celebrity with the 2.8l sedan. And i think i have a fuel problem. The car ran fine for a while but it would surge at a light and stall. It would start right back up with no problems. Then eventually i would hear a hummmmm noise coming from the rear of the car. And i would sometimes smell gas. Well then it wouldent run period. So i changed the fuel filter no change. sometimes it will run idleing, no more than that if you hit the accelerator it dies. And when i turn the key i hear the fuel pump go eerrrrrrrrr then it dies very slowly, so my guess is the fuel pump. what do you think.

Re: Celebrity Fuel Problem 2.8l

change the pump and check the gas line from the rear to the front for any wetness
