Re: would you buy another ford truck??
My family and most of my friends have always stuck with ford. But, one year (I Think 1999) my uncle bought a brand new 2500 HD Chevy, and within about 6 months he sold it because problems started occuring. I'm not saying Chevys are bad, nor Dodge, but I'm a Ford man, and I always will be.

Re: would you buy another ford truck??
I would have said no based on my 93 Ford.
Now I say yes based on my 01 Chevy.
The 97-03 Fords are good trucks. The early 90`s Chevys were good also.

Whats the matter with 92-96? I've never had a problem with mine.. never heard of many problems either.

Re: would you buy another ford truck??
Personally I love my truck, very reliable. They seem to just keep going.(I like the styling of mine much more then the 96-03 F-150s)

Rear spring shackles rusted through common rust belt.
Oil pan rusted through common rust belt
These are common problems on northern Fords.
Oil pans should last unless damaged. The rear leaf spring shackles are riveted to the vehicles frame they are a suspension part that should be heavy enough to not rust through on a 9 year old truck . These are two common BS problems. Parts that should last the life of vehicle.
The Ford truck was good mechanicly. The body was also good. Under the truck was terrible for rust.

Re: would you buy another ford truck??
Oh, well you see, I don't live in the northern states. Infact I'm in Georgia, so i would have never thought about it. I retract my statement about never hearing of any problems.

I think I would have loved it in Georgia too
Ford has some good engines but I do miss the old 300 six. Ford needs to come out with a good I6. I don`t think much of the V6 they have now.
My truck had the 302 in it. Good engine but under powered for what it was. I had a 300 in a 80 f 150. I wish I could get that truck new today.

Oh i hear ya, i love this little I6 motor ive got in it, love the torque its got. The 5.0 are underpowered in the trucks like you said, i loved the 351W though, great engine. And i agree on the v6 thing, Ford has yet to come up with a really good v6 for the trucks, like the hondas 3.5l v6 in the new trucks, they put out pretty well ranked specs.

Re: would you buy another ford truck??
Fords are nice, Chevy's are nice and Dodges are nice too.
Every ford that I have owned or knew people that owned had serious electrical problems.
If you get a ford make sure you have Fire Coverage on it... But know what I say, As long as it gets me to A to B To C and Back to A I don't care what it is as long as it's reliable and ya can't say that fords aren't Chevy's aren't or Dodges Aren't, Ya have to take the good w/ the bad on eveything
