Question fuel guage

My fuel guage reads less than full with tank filled to the point that it spills out of the fill spout. Is this a problem with the guage or is the tank not venting properly? Any suggestions before I take it in to the dealer.

Re: fuel guage

Sending unit may be starting to fail.

Also, you are ruining your charcoal canister by filling it up that high.

This will have the EVAP control dumping pure gas into the intake instead of just the collected vapours.

Fill at low speed until it clicks off. Then top it up to the nearest dollar ONLY.

The vent for the charcoal canister is connected to the upper part of the fill hose. You filling it that high fills that vent hose with fuel and this will turn your poweder charcoal into a hard lump of carbon.
