4L30E loves a fresh drink!

Only 13K miles from the last tranny fluid and filter change, but the shifting was getting a little rough. I drained and refilled twice (first time-usually once) and it shifts as smooth as butter now. Filter and fluid next time...

Remember to top off warm and running in neutral!

I just changed fluid and filter last weekend and it did seem to make a difference. How did you add fluid? My method ended up with about a quart of amsoil on the floor. I'm going to drain and refill again soon.

Re: 4L30E loves a fresh drink!

I used a hand pump screwed to the top of the quart bottle. Can't help but slop a bunch on the ground. I try to prevent any backflow by putting the side of my finger right up against the remaining hole in the pan, but some always runs down my arm, especailly when it's full. The first time I had it changed the mechanic who did it had tranny fluid all over his shirt, so I feel like I'm pretty neat.
