bad alternator

my alt. went out tonight this is my first rodeo 3.2 4x4 98 model.... i see 60 amp 90 amp 165 amp how do i need to go? rebuild mine... napa.... how much should i expect to pay??? i can do the work my self... thanks for the replies

where are you getting your alternators from? i was thinking of upgrading mine.. i have an 02 rodeo sport. don't want the audio to kill one and not have a replacement handy. thanks.

The reman alts from auto parts stores don't tend to last very long. Try to get the OEM. Short of that, go for the BOSCH. Try pepboys or NAPA for BOSCH. Call st charles isuzu for OEM (800-727-8066), 15% off list and free ship.

im gonna get my alt from napa... turns out i have a 70 amp the price wasnt too bad... $108 3 year warranty.. $80 for a shop to rebuild mine 90 day warranty... if it was the 90 amp it was $244 .... ebay has 165 amp alts for heavy applications... seems the rear window defogger made the difference on which one you have.. thanks
