78 vett overheating (high speed)

a little help PLEASE!
my 78 runs about 215 degreesafter 65 mph for 20 minutes..at low speed it runs fine all day (180). guage is OK. new fan..thermostate..stock radiator..engine flushed..new hoses new water pump..all work perfectly.. still runs hot at highway speed..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. nobody knows what to do..

my first guess would be a restriction in air flow at highway speeds,,, maby something is blocking air flow when traviling at cruising speed's,, you know it ain't the motor,, or it would happen all the time,, look for some loose body, or air dam part's,,, it's got to be simple........ good luck....

Have you verified that the stat is opening all the way? You could try running without it for a day to see if it helps. (only on warm days). Look into the rad filler and you should see coolant circulating. Be sure the system doesnt have air in it too. Did you cut all nessessary holes in the head/intake gaskets to accomodate for the water jacket?

I just had same problem with my '72 Vette. In your list of new items you did not list the radiator cap. It solved my problem. Good luck!
