Water pump replacement.. and upper brake light/bar/LED replacement

Just two quick questions for anyone who's done either of these before.

How difficult is a waterpump replacement on a 95 blazer (4.3L) (would this job be comparable to a starter replacement.. or easier since less spatial manuevering problems.

also.. my taillight strip of LED on my rear hatch is no longer lighting and that will fail my inspection... but I don't see 'how' it comes off the window... it looks like it is an integral part to the glass 'component'. Has anyone replaced this before?

any info would be helpful,

Thanks.
Tim

In my experiance there are two screws that hold the bar down.
Remove those and it comes off.
The LED bar its self slides out.
But thats a 99 Blazer.

Yep.. I can't believe I missed that.. thanks. I must have puzzled over that for about 20 minutes the other day.. I even practically climbed on the hood to look at it. Went out and found the screws right away after reading your post.

Thanks,

Tim

If you know how to sodder and use a multimeter with a diode tester. youll save alot of money. Those are not cheap. well they werent for my caddy. so im assuming the same for yours.

Re: Water pump replacement.. and upper brake light/bar/LED replacement

Yes Local Dealership parts dept wants $103.37 for one..

I'm pretty sure it still works.. I can wiggle the wire connection to it with the hatch open and the brake pedal depressed and it comes on fine.. the problem is that the wire is under a lot of tension and may have been damaged.. so if I can just remove the bar and run some tests I can probably just snip the wire and solder and electrical tape a new segment of wire on to it to give it more 'play'

I replaced my rear window lifts and they have 'shoved' my rear window up about an inch.. which has put the tension on the wire.. (and also now lets a little bit of air in when on the highway)
