Question HELP Please Need a transmission>?

My tranny went out and I'm having trouble finding one. I got a 95 blazer 4x4 4.3 v6 automatic.
I was told that the all wheel drive astro vans use the same trans. Do es anyone know if this is true.
Please help I need to get this fixed ASAP and cheap....

Re: HELP Please Need a transmission>?

it is a common transmission. Shouldn't be hard to find one.

BTW, what do you mean by it "went out"?

Tranny went out.

Engine revs but wheels would not turn. I had it towed into ATCO transmissions and was told the tranny needs repaired. They wanted $375.00 just to take it apart and see what went wrong, and told me it would be $1400 to $2000 to repair.
I think I can get a used one for around $400 however I'm unsure.
I tech at my local dChevy dealer told me that I couls onlt use a tranny from a 95 - 97 because the electronics are not the same as the newer ones. However other people have told me it will work. I just don't know who to listen to. Trust the dealer or trust the guy trying to sell me a tranny that my not fit?

I would swap in a used one.

1400-2000 can buy you two new transmissions if you are a smart shopper.
